Who is it for? is a job board site that offers remote work opportunities and resources for both employers and job seekers. The job board site opened up several years ago by Sara Sutton, founder of Flexjobs and 1 Million For Work Flexibility.

As a sister site of Flexjobs, the job board provides similar opportunities for those searching for telecommuting and remote work. The job board regularly screens for job postings to determine whether they’re legitimate or not. They aim to achieve the following goals:

  • To provide expert insights

  • To offer best practices for remote work

  • To provide the proper transition for those looking to work remotely, or currently are remote work companies

Along with helping job seekers, they offer assistance to employers switching to remote work, while finding the best candidates for their companies. In the times we’re going through right now, more companies than ever are transitioning to remote work environments. With a site such as, it’s a great place to start learning how remote environments operate. Also, they have useful guides in communicating and managing remote work employees. is a suitable place to start the path to working from anywhere (and at any time).

Similar to my Flexjobs review, I will discuss some of the highlights and key takeaways of what is about. The following points include:

1.) Features

2.) Do they charge for membership?

3.) Pros and cons

4.) Overall review and rating review: Features has plenty of resources for new and returning users to their site. Whether you’re a job seeker or an employer, there are good guides to making the most out of remote work. Along with the existing job board, here are some other parts of the website to check out:

  • Remote companies Q&A review- 1

This section is for companies who are considering or have already gone into remote work. It’s a neat place to check out which companies have gone remotely. They give out tips on how to work remotely when needed. These companies sharing their best practices can help employers determine whether or not going remote is the best path going forward. Some of the questions include:

  1. Did you switch to remote or start that way?
  2. How important is remote work to your business model?
  3. What do you consider the most significant benefits of a remote workforce?
  • Remote worker Q&A forum review- 2

This section is for prospective and current remote workers who can post questions about working remotely. It’s good to take part in a platform where you can ask anything about these topics, and you’ll get plenty of answers. For instance, what are the benefits of working remotely? What are the challenges of working at home? Commons questions such as these and many more are answered through this Q&A forum.

  • Remote worker blog review- 3

The blog section is where you can find a lot of content about remote work and best practices. Most of the articles lean towards discussing the benefits of remote work, and how the trend has grown over the years. As I mentioned earlier, remote work has grown in recent years, and it will continue to do so. With the current situation today (2020), working remotely will likely accelerate in the coming months and years ahead. So there are many useful posts on how remote work continues to move in a positive direction.

  • Remote Jobs

Of course, this section is where most people will visit to find the latest job postings. Many of the jobs I viewed were in customer service and support, but there are opportunities in other categories. Such categories include writing, virtual assistants, marketing, data entry, and much more. They also have work in social media and online teaching, if those are subjects of interest to you. These jobs are screened before posting on the job board, so these are legit opportunities to apply for.

Do they charge for membership?

remote 1

One of the best parts of using is it’s free to find jobs and utilize their services. Unlike with Flexjobs, where you’re charged for a paid membership, is free and easy to use. It’s useful for individuals in immediate need of work, and if they’re on a low budget (or can’t afford to pay for a job board membership). Also, it’s a viable alternative to other job sites that require a paid membership. It’s one thing to use extra features on a job board site and pay for it; however, for some job seekers, that may not be the best option. So is one of the best choices for affordability (for offering their job board site for free).

Pros & Cons

  • The job board site is easy to navigate and user-friendly
  • Plenty of content on remote work trends (leaning in a positive direction for the long-term)
  • Q&A forums for remote employers, employees, and job seekers
  • Job postings are screened for legitimacy (similar to Flexjobs)
  • No cost to join and use services (it’s free, unlike with other job board sites)

  • Job board site can be a learning curve for those new to remote work
  • Some users have complained about not finding the best remote jobs
  • Support response time reported being slow sometimes

Rating: 8.2/10

remote 2 is one of the best job board sites to find remote work today. Not only do they list free remote work opportunities for current job seekers, but also help companies looking to transition into remote work. A job board site such as is more relevant today than ever, and continues to be a go-to place for those interested in remote work.

  1. Thanks for the very relevant info! One thing that I am curious about is, do you think the types of jobs posted on this site are focused more towards experienced or less-experienced hires? Do they have an array of postings in terms of experience requirements, or is it focused more so on one or the other in regards to worker experience level?

    • Hello, Nick! Thank you for your questions.

It depends, but I think a site such as leans toward anyone interested in remote work. Of course, I would think those with more experience would benefit a lot.

Some of their postings aim to find workers with several years of remote work experience. Others not, but generally, they want people who have had experience working remotely. Overall, it’s a good site to find remote work at no cost!

Thanks again for your feedback- much appreciated!

  2. Hi Eric,

i love your tag line … Don’t Settle For Average: Strive For Excellence. It’s not too many people who actually strive for excellence and the ones that do are the ones that change the world and their world too, alongside.

While Remote is a job board site that offers remote work opportunities and resources for both employers and job seekers, i have been using Respondent with some minor success. i think we have to try a variety of them before we find one that works for us.

    Good article Eric.

    • Thank you very much, Sehr. I’m glad to know you enjoyed reading this post. Yes, I love the tag line that I came up with (it resonates with what I believe in, and continue to aim for regardless where I’m at today).

It’s good to know about your own experience with job sites. I haven’t heard of Respondent before, so I’ll have to look into it. But it appears to be mixed when it comes to working with job board sites. Some people see results, while others won’t have much success.

We both have something in common with what we’ve run into these days.

Thanks again for sharing your input- much appreciated!

  3. This is a an amazing gem in the work from home space.  I have found that a lot of the larger job sites such as Monster have a lot of scams.   I could not believe that people would stoop so low to lure others out of their money.   The other job sites also had very few remote jobs and most was for full time.

It will be nice if this place as part time options especially so many folks that need time flexibility.

    • Thank you, Sam. It’s great to know you liked the review.

Yes, sites such as Monster are ok. But you make an excellent point- there are a lot of scams on those types of job board sites. So, you have to be very careful when looking for jobs in that category. I can’t tell you how many scams I’ve run into through other websites. seems to do a decent job screening the type of work opportunities they post on their website. We’ll see how well it goes in the long-term.

Thanks again for your input- much appreciated!

  4. Wow! I have actually heard a lot of mixed reactions from people and seeing it here, I feel it is HGH time I joined the platform to gain another way to earn extra income for myself. This is really massive to see and I would want to get right into it as fast as I can. This is really good here. Thanks

    • No problem, Nath. I’m glad to know you enjoyed this post.

  5. I really had so much on my mind about this platform and seeing how you have mad things clearer is really nice and liken it so much. I really like reading reviews because so many people have been telling me about this platform and one thing that I like about it is the no cost to join, but there is so much to be done on it.

    • Thank you, Justin. I’m glad to know you enjoyed reading this post.

Yes, the platform has plenty of good things to offer. You’re right that there is still more work to be done. Hopefully, will offer more later down the road. There’s so much more that they can do for their platform.

  6. This post is a great read. In the age of more and more people working from home, it is is a great topic to cover. The popularity of video meeting is skyrocketing. And there really isn’t enough information like this out there.

Your content is easy to read and understand. I was fully engaged and learned a lot about from the detail you laid out. I’m definitely going to give it a good look and pick it up.

    • Thank you, Jordan. It looks like you enjoyed reading this post. offers a unique platform for remote work. One that seems more narrowed down, particularly for those who prefer to work from home. As I mentioned earlier, hopefully the platform will improve over time and offer more resources.

Remote work is becoming more of a thing these days. The platform should get better as they input feedback.

Thanks again for sharing your input- very much appreciated!
