I wanted to write about something not related to my niche. I’m someone who believes in personal responsibility and taking accountability for my actions. It leads me to talk about one of the best individuals on these topics: Dr. Ron Paul. There has not been any latest Ron Paul news these days, but the man’s ideas are very relevant worldwide.

Latest Ron Paul News: Who is Ron Paul?

Ron Paul is a doctor and former congressman from Texas. He served from the mid-70s’ to the mid-80s’, and then he had another stint from the late-90s’ until the early 2010s’. During those periods, he’s always sided on the dissent (even has received the nickname of “Dr. No”): For the most part, he’s voted against a lot of legislation he considered unconstitutional.

Dr. Paul also ran for president of the United States a couple of times- most notably in 2008 and 2012. Those were inspiring campaigns in promoting the cause of liberty, and they inspired a new generation of liberty-loving supporters. I include myself in that category, especially when I discovered Dr. Paul in his 2012 presidential run.

What was so exciting about those campaigns is they weren’t conventional ones. In other words, he was interested in educating and informing people on the real issues. His views were not discussed often in the news, so it took a little more effort to get his message out. But his campaigns did so many great things in spreading the message of liberty.

Latest Ron Paul News: Ron Paul today & his ideas

Latest Ron Paul News- RPI

Dr. Paul is retired, but he stays active in his daily whereabouts. Paul chairs an organization called the Ron Paul Institute for Peace & Prosperity (RPI). This organization primarily promotes a pro-peace, non-interventionist foreign policy, which has done great work for several years. He currently hosts the Ron Paul Liberty Report (a flagship project of the RPIthrough Youtube, which grows every week.

Dr. Paul’s message of liberty, peace, and prosperity is relevant today. For this reason, what we see around the world looks like the exact opposite of what Paul promotes. It’s scary to see what’s going on and why I believe in Dr. Paul’s ideas.

Personally, his presidential campaigns inspired me to look at the world differently. Shortly after his 2012 run, I had a better understanding of the real issues. Things were not going well as portrayed in the news, and what needed to be focused on and looked at more in-depth.

Following Dr. Paul for the last several years, it’s incredible to see how much I’ve learned about foreign policy, along with monetary policy as well. These are real issues that need to be discussed more often, and Dr. Paul was brave enough to speak up about it.

Last year’s Mises conference & my interaction with him

Latest Ron Paul News- RPI

In November 2019, I happened to travel to Houston, Texas, for a symposium hosted by the Mises Institute. It was a great trip that my mother and I attended (partly to celebrate her birthday at the time). But the highlight was the conference, where Dr. Paul and several other speakers got to talk. They mostly discussed what would be the significant issues of the 2020 election. Looking back a year later, no one wouldn’t expect 2020 to be such a bizarre year based on how it’s gone.

Anyway, I got to see Dr. Paul speak at the conference, along with getting a photo with him right after the meeting was over. I can’t tell you how ecstatic I was to meet him in person finally. It was so exciting and unreal, and it was one of the best moments of my life. I certainly will never forget that day, as it was a day I looked forward to for a long time. I finally got to check-off meeting him on my to-do list.

Below is a picture of me with an unexpected gift I got from my folks. It’s considered an early Christmas gift on their behalf, and I was thrilled to see it up close.

Latest Ron Paul News- Me with picture

Most recently, the Mises Institute had another conference in Houston, Texas, with Dr. Paul. I would have loved to have gone down again. However, this year was a bit of a challenge for obvious reasons. But I watched some of the videos, and Dr. Paul gave another great speech about the latest 2020 election.

As I reflected on that meeting last year, I can’t tell you how much I appreciate what Dr. Paul has done in the previous few decades. Whether in private life or Congress, he’s done a tremendous service to the public.

I don’t want to be known as someone who is entirely biased in supporting Dr. Paul. I can’t wholly agree with him on everything, but on most issues, I do. Especially when it comes to war and peace, the Federal Reserve, and government role, he’s spot on those issues. I enjoy listening to his views, and I’m glad that someone is telling the truth.

As I’ve mentioned before, I despise politicians and view them as snake-oil salesmen. They’re pathological liars who don’t care about helping people, and they’re not addressing the real issues. However, Dr. Paul was one of those exceptions as one of the best individuals serving in public office.

Now that Dr. Paul is no longer in office, I don’t think there will be another person like him in my lifetime. A few people are doing good things in Congress, such as congressman Thomas Massie and Paul’s son, Senator Rand Paul. But there are not many people willing to go far as Dr. Paul would usually do.

Overall, I thought about Dr. Paul lately these days. Even though he’s no longer in office, his ideas and message of liberty are fundamental today. There are times where I get discouraged when the country moves away from the ideas of freedom, free markets, sound money, and a non-interventionist foreign policy. However, it’s why it’s still important to educate people on these critical issues.

I’m glad Dr. Paul is still doing that today on the Liberty Report and through all the books he’s written. He’s considered one of my greatest heroes in life and continues to educate while spreading the message of liberty. His input and wisdom are what we all need more than ever today.
